Watercolor Workshop: Autumn Bell Jar

Capture the quiet beauty of autumn in our Watercolor Workshop: Autumn Bell Jar, featuring a delicate collection of dried flowers and greenery displayed beneath a glass cloche alongside a soft white pumpkin.

This beginner-friendly workshop introduces techniques for painting transparent glass, creating soft shadows, layering delicate botanical elements, and using muted autumn colors to create a warm, natural composition. You’ll explore how to suggest the shape and reflections of glass without outlining every detail, while using simple brushstrokes to paint dried flowers, seed pods, and foliage.

Paint along with me step by step as we build the composition from the soft glass shapes to the delicate botanicals and finishing details, allowing the watercolor to remain loose and expressive. You’ll leave with techniques for painting transparent objects, creating dimension with subtle shadows, layering botanical elements, and combining different textures in future watercolor paintings.
