Watercolor Workshop: Morning Teacup

Capture the charm of a quiet morning in our Watercolor Workshop: Morning Teacup, featuring a delicate porcelain teacup overflowing with loose pink and peach flowers against a soft, airy background.

This beginner-friendly workshop introduces techniques for painting rounded ceramic shapes, creating subtle shadows and highlights, and building loose floral arrangements with expressive brushstrokes. You’ll explore how to paint delicate petals, slender stems, and small botanical details while using soft washes and negative space to keep the composition light and balanced.

Paint along with me step by step as we establish the teacup and saucer, build the floral arrangement with layers of color, and add soft shadows and finishing details. You’ll leave with techniques for painting everyday objects, creating loose floral arrangements, suggesting curved surfaces, and combining flowers with simple still-life elements in future watercolor paintings.
